The Russell House is a beautiful space for personal events such as birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, wedding showers, family reunions, holiday parties, rehearsal dinners & weddings. It also serves as the perfect venue for office parties, corporate luncheons, class reunions, private or group lessons, small ticketed events & church gatherings.
Rental Details
Rental Rate
The Russell House is rented by the day — $200 per Calendar Date. Book the time you need for event including setup and cleanup. If your event requires day-before access, you will need to book both Calendar Dates.
Open Hours
Each booked Calendar Date allows twelve hours of access from 9am to 9pm. Please plan accordingly so your event is finished and cleaned up by curfew of 9pm. If you prefer to clean up the following day, you will need to book both Calendar Dates.

Outside: Wrap Porch, Courtyard and the surrounding grounds
Tables & Chairs
There is a variety of tables & chairs available for your event. Usage and layout will be discussed & determined before rental and setup will be completed by 9am on your booked Calendar Date.
Linens
Ivory tablecloths and linen napkins are available to rent — $5 per tablecloth and $1.50 per napkin. If you are interested in a wide range of colors and other decor items, we invite you to contact The Carriage House on Village Street. Ask for Darryl.
FAQs
Is the house wheelchair accessible?
This historical building is not fully accessible at this time and does require stairs to access the porch and interior. We look forward to making this location ADA compliant so all can enjoy the RH in the coming years.
How many guests can I have?
For dining events, the Great Room can seat a maximum of 60 people at round tables or 40 people at a single long banquet table. (The Parlor Room can hold an additional 16.) For chair-only events, the Great Room can have 100 theatre-style chairs. For standing-only, the interior can safely allow a maximum of 120 people.
Where can people park?
There is limited street parking available but you have permission to use the Moxham Lutheran Church parking lot. Please be mindful of any litter created from your guests and clean up after your event.
When do I need to leave?
Rentals end at 9pm. Someone will be there at that time to shut off the lights and secure the house. You are free to leave beforehand, just exit out the front door which will auto-lock behind you.
Can I serve alcohol?
If alcohol is present at your event, including beer, wine and/or liquor, you must obtain liability insurance to cover your event. Upon booking, please share this certification of insurance, listing “Johnstown Heritage” as the additional party insured. Note: Most businesses likely already hold liability insurance while individuals can check with their homeowner’s insurance or purchase a special event policy through an agency.
Is smoking allowed?
Absolutely zero smoking inside the Russell House, including vapes. You can designate a Smoking Zone away from the house in the rear driveway area or the parking lot next door. Please dispose of any cigarette butts in an outside trash can. No marijuana (or other drugs) on the property.
What do I do in case of emergency?
In case of an emergency like fire, injury or medical episode: call 911.
